Homo Digitalis Speaks Once Again at CPDP!

Homo Digitalis participated once again in the largest international conference on data protection, Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP), with a talk on the panel “Protecting the Digital Rights of Asylum Seekers and Refugees”, organized by the Centre for Fundamental Rights – Hertie School!

Eleftherios Chelioudakis, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Homo Digitalis, represented us as a speaker on the panel, alongside Francesca Palmiotto (IE University), Derya Ozkul (University of Warwick), and Joanna Parkin (EDPS – European Data Protection Supervisor) on Friday, May 23.

Homo Digitalis Event on the AI Act and opportunities for synergies for Civil Society Organizations

On Thursday, February 27, Homo Digitalis organized the first-ever workshop on the AI Act for Civil Society Organizations in Greece at its offices in ViOS Coworking Space!

More than 20 organizations participated, coming from diverse backgrounds but sharing a common interest: collaborating on the challenges and opportunities arising from the AI Act.

Event Highlights

During the event, we presented our three thematic studies on the AI Act:
-Fundamental Rights Impact Assessments (FRIAs)
-Supervisory Authorities & AI Governance Ecosystem
-Prohibited Practices

We also hosted thematic discussion groups on four key topics:

-Business Practices & Algorithmic Transparency

-AI Systems, Democracy & the Information Society

Elpida Vamvakas' speech at the 52nd Book Festival is now available on video!

Homo Digitalis has the great honor to be present at the 52nd Book Festival that took place at Pedion Tou Areos.

Specifically, on Thursday, September 19, our co-founder and President Elpida Vamvaka participated as a speaker in a round table organized at the main stage of the festival by the Association of Book Publishers (S.E.B.) & the Hellenic Comics Academy on the topic “Is art written with AI?”

The discussion was moderated by Panagiotis Papageorgiou (Lawyer, Member of the Greek Comics Academy) and Dimitris Doukoglou (illustrator, presenter, stand-up comedian). Other roundtable speakers include Vassilis Vlahokyrikakos (Associate Professor of Human-Computer Interaction) , Abraham Kawa (Author, Translator & Theorist of Culture) and George Nathaniel (IT and Management Consultant).
