A major victory for democracy in Greece! Yesterday, all four defendants in the spyware scandal case were found guilty at first instance.

However, this victory did not come by chance. The credit belongs to the investigative journalists. They uncovered the scandal, were themselves targeted by surveillance for doing their job, and faced SLAPP lawsuits. Their courage and persistence made the difference.
