{"id":134564,"date":"2024-12-23T13:33:05","date_gmt":"2024-12-23T11:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/homodigitalis.gr\/?p=134564"},"modified":"2025-04-24T15:55:53","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T13:55:53","slug":"we-publish-our-third-study-on-the-ai-act-focusing-on-article-5-prohibited-practices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/homodigitalis.gr\/en\/posts\/134564\/","title":{"rendered":"We Publish Our Third Study on the AI Act, Focusing on Article 5 &#038; Prohibited Practices"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;blogtext&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"94\" data-end=\"308\">Today, Homo Digitalis publishes its third study on Regulation 2024\/1689, the now widely known AI Act, titled <em data-start=\"203\" data-end=\"306\">&#8220;AI Act: Analysis of the Provisions on Prohibited Practices under Article 5 of Regulation 2024\/1689.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"441\">The study&#8217;s authors are Sofia Antonopoulou, Lamprini Gyftokosta, Tania Skrapalioti, Eleftherios Chelioudakis, and Stavroula Chousou.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"443\" data-end=\"768\">This analysis systematically examines each provision of Article 5 of the AI Act, covering manipulative or deceptive techniques, exploitation of vulnerabilities, social behavior scoring, facial recognition databases, crime prediction, emotion inference, biometric categorization systems, and remote biometric identification.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"1120\">We provide targeted questions highlighting key aspects of these provisions, identifying &#8220;gray areas&#8221; where ambiguities, overlaps, or interpretative challenges arise. Additionally, we present concrete examples to support our concerns and formulate specific questions for clarification by the European Commission&#8217;s AI Office and national legislators.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1441\">Like our previous studies (published in <a href=\"https:\/\/homodigitalis.gr\/en\/posts\/133734\/\"><strong>October<\/strong> <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/homodigitalis.gr\/en\/posts\/133731\/\"><strong>November<\/strong><\/a> 2024), this study aims to assist the Ministry of Digital Governance in implementing the AI Act in Greece.
