Our <strong data-start=\"638\" data-end=\"683\">Executive Director, Eleftherios Chelioudakis<\/strong>, provided statements on behalf of our organization.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"739\" data-end=\"799\"><strong data-start=\"743\" data-end=\"797\">Significant Revelations Emerge for the First Time!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"800\" data-end=\"914\">According to the report, despite the absence of any legal framework allowing their use, the <strong data-start=\"892\" data-end=\"911\">Hellenic Police<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"916\" data-end=\"1574\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"916\" data-end=\"1139\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"918\" data-end=\"1139\"><strong data-start=\"918\" data-end=\"928\">Claims<\/strong> to have been using the devices operationally since <strong data-start=\"980\" data-end=\"988\">2021<\/strong>, even though the <strong data-start=\"1006\" data-end=\"1051\">Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA)<\/strong> has been investigating the matter since <strong data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1107\">August 2020<\/strong> and continues to do so today.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1140\" data-end=\"1292\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1292\"><strong data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1154\">Confirms<\/strong> that it fully utilizes the <strong data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1206\">biometric processing<\/strong> capabilities of these devices (<strong data-start=\"1238\" data-end=\"1288\">facial recognition, fingerprint identification<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"1574\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1295\" data-end=\"1574\"><strong data-start=\"1295\" data-end=\"1308\">Validates<\/strong> what was outlined in the <strong data-start=\"1334\" data-end=\"1376\">2018 technical specifications document<\/strong>, namely that the devices are used for <strong data-start=\"1415\" data-end=\"1440\">\u201cpreventive policing\u201d<\/strong>, with the collected data potentially being used in the future to establish <strong data-start=\"1516\" data-end=\"1571\">correlations, conclusions, and predictive analytics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"1576\" data-end=\"1614\"><strong data-start=\"1580\" data-end=\"1612\">Awaiting the HDPA\u2019s Decision<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1615\" data-end=\"1911\">We are still awaiting the <strong data-start=\"1641\" data-end=\"1690\">Hellenic Data Protection Authority\u2019s decision<\/strong>, as its investigation has now lasted <strong data-start=\"1728\" data-end=\"1757\">over 4 years and 7 months<\/strong> (initiated in <strong data-start=\"1772\" data-end=\"1787\">August 2020<\/strong>).
